Saving the Yamuna/CW Games :

People’s Action joined hands with the Yamuna activists in September 2007, after the former stormed Delhi Assembly in session. Activists protesting unbridled construction on Yamuna and the acquisition of the river bed for the commonwealth games created a furore in the Delhi Assembly while it was in the last day of its session shouting slogans against the passive manner of MLAs on the issue of commercialisation of the Yamuna riverbed. In August same year, Anti-Commonwealth Games Site activists set up a camp on Yamuna banks. A petition is filed in Supreme Court regarding the same where verdict is awaited.
